Josh Ritter is performing "Girl In The War" on David Letterman right now. Ritter is a new discovery for me. I actually found him by reading Stephen King's column from Entertainment Weekly. He called his newest cd, "The Animal Years" which the song he is currently singing is from, one of the best cds of the past five years. So with that type of endorsement I figured it was worth a shot. And it was.
This is a great cd. I've listened to it quite a few times since I got it. I don't know if I'd call it the best cd of the past five years, but I would rate in the top list of the past five years. It is that good. And "Girl In The Water" is one of my favorite tracks from the cd.
I'm going to have to go out and find his past cds now.
