Tonight: Alejandro Escovedo

At the House of Blues Parish Room Alejandro Escovedo is playing tonight. This man is one of my favorites (yea, I know I have a lot of favorites). He started his career in a punk rock band called the True Believers and than went on to Rank and File for an album. After that he went solo and has been recording since. He's not real prolific, putting out less than a dozen albums in the last two decades. But the material he does put out is awesome. In the last few years he was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and has been battling that. As a musician he had no health coverage, so that has been a struggle in itself. He's doing better, last year he released a new cd "The Boxing Mirror" and is now on tour. His brother is a jazz drummer and his niece is Shelia E.
