More Two Penguins

A new design using the two penguins name. What do you think? Posted by Hello

Logo for Two Penguins

This is the logo for Two Penguins comics & stories. It's just the name I use to put all my work under one place, the name for my webpage. It's not a comic publishing company. Posted by Hello

New Music

Yesterday I spent in Metairie at Borders. Went looking for one cd and ended up buying four. Had that buy three, get one free special. I started to find a few that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, so I figured to go for the four. I bought:
Mary Gauthier- Mercy Now
Eliza Gilkyson- Land of Milk and Honey
Jon Dee Graham- the great battle
Waifs- a brief history(live)

Music Added

Just added music to the site. If you knew how dumb I am when it comes to computers you would really appreciate how much trouble I went to in order to get this working. And I was able to get Bob Dylan playing. How much better can it get than that?

LOOKING FOR ARTISTS

I've decided that I want to try and get back into the comic writing biz. This may be even more of a pipe dream than from before, but what the hey! I figure it's worth another shot. At least I can say that I do have published credits to my history, so that might help some. But what I don't have is artists. I have plenty of ideas, but I need some talented artists to help give life to these ideas. Most companies are not going to look at anything from just a writer, they want a complete package, so that's what I'm looking for here. Someone that is willing to work on a proposal to submit to the comic companies, so first off you have to understand that means no pay if we don't sell the proposal. I only say this because when I ran ads looking for artists before I got replys saying that they would be glad to illustrate anything I wanted and proceeded to give me a price list. Next piece of information, please be professional level....I have been published, I conside myself something of a professional, so I'm looking for only artists that are professional and good. Hopefully I'll get a few replys here. Drop me a line if you're interested and let's talk some more.

Music: Youth & Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
American Idiot by Green Day
From A Distance: Best of by Nanci Griffin
Live at the Rainbow Roon by Jane Monheit

TV Shows: Angel Season 5
Guns of Will Sonnett Season 1
NYPD Blue current episode
Lost current episode
West Wing current episode

Comic books: Astonishing X-Men: Gifted
Young Avengers #1
Walking Dead # 14 & 15
New Avengers #3

Daredevil #69
Grimjack #1
The Legend of Grimjack, Volume One
Daredevil: Redemption #1
Ultimates 2 #3

Ok, that's a list of a lot of what I've been reading or listening to or watching. I'm sure I've forgotten some things. I have a bad habit of reading three or four books at a time. I'll read one for a while than pick up another one to read. As far as music I know there's more I just can't think of, I was listening to A Simple Plan and A Perfect Circle on the way home from Red Lobster tonight but can't think of the album titles.

Orlando Comic Con Pictures

This is Brian's son, Brian and me at our table at the convention. If I remember it right this wasn't that big or busy a convention. I think it was at the start of the Orlando Cons. Behind Brian is some of his artwork. In front of me are copies of some of the comics I wrote and was trying to sell.

Also a note. The t shirt I am wearing in the picture, Dino from the Flintstones was designed by another friend of mine, and another great artist....Terry Pavlet. Check out his webpage at http://www.Hausofdesign.com. Posted by Hello

More Orlando Con Pictures (actually one picture)

These are some old pictures when I went to an Orlando Comic Convention. The people in the picture are from the back row, Bruce Miller (sometimes inker on Diebold) and his wife, Brian's son, and Mike Zeck's wife and Mike Zeck (yes, the great Mike Zeck artist of Punisher and so many other greats comics). The front row is Brian Clifton and his wife and that's me in the Batman hat and crazy hair. Brian is/was the co creator and artist on Diebold. Posted by Hello

What It Is

Ok, I feel kind of weird about this...but here goes. This blog is part of my webpage, there's a link on it to here and one back to the webpage from here. I wanted somewhere to put down my thoughts on a daily (hah, that'll be the day) or as often as I get around to it, basis. I plan to use this to talk about all sorts of things, sometimes maybe even personal information. But I hope to talk about what I'm reading, watching, listening to. Anything that I see or hear about that provokes me or moves me enough to want to put down my two cents worth. Maybe even put down some of my writings.

I welcome any and all response.

If you've visited my web page (http://www.twopenguinscomics.com) you'll know that most of my writing has been in the comic book field. It's been a few years since I've had anything published, or actually even attempted to, but I hope to be changing that in the future. Maybe one day I'll even write about how I was supposed to be the writer on Sam Kieth's MAXX comic book.

Comic books, books, magazines, movies, tv shows, music...I spend too much money and time on all of them. I want to talk about all these subjects here. (I just bought the fifth and final season of ANGEL today, can't wait to watch it.)

One thing you'll find out about me is that once I get started writing I can run off for paragraphs, even pages...it's kind of like having a big mouth, which I've been accused of once or twice too. But that's ok. I'm going to end it here for now, it's been a long day. I'll try to update again tommorrow, maybe let you know what I think of Angel.

This is Me

Kind of a dorky looking picture of me, but in an awful neat place....I was going to say a cool place, but that would have been too much. Posted by Hello
