Vacation

Just spent the last five days at my Moms.   It's nice when you can sit on the porch and look out see something like this picture.   This picture actually wasn't taken from my Mom's porch, but three different times I saw two deer hop across her front yard.  Looking out her kitchen window to her back yard I was able to observe the ground hog family that lives back there.  And from her back yard all you see is trees and hills, no house or person in sight.  Very relaxing.

And just what I've been needing.

Visits to the White House?

I've been doing some reading up about Washington D.C. since I plan of going there this May. Tickets are already bought, so I'll be there. I was there about twenty years ago, but I'm sure a lot of it's changed. But than again, there is probably a lot that hasn't, since it has the memorials and museums, they can't change too much.

Last time I went I was able to take a tour of the White House. From what I gather now that might be a problem. You have to request a tour six months in advance through your Congressman or Senator and it has to be in a group situation.

Last time I didn't see the Supreme Court, Congress, Vietnam Wall or the Jefferson Memorial. This time I plan on seeing them.

Washington D.C.

During the week from May 6 to May 13 I will be in Washington D.C. with Heather. We are going on vacation to the Capitol City for the week. I spent about a week in D.C. about twenty years ago and have been wanting to go back. We were trying to decide where to go, we thought of going to Alaska, to London, etc. but the prices were all a little more than we wanted to pay, but we got a good deal from airfare and hotel room to D.C. I can't wait, it's going to be a great vacation. (But like last year when I went to Disney, leaving right after Jazz Fest, we will be leaving right after Jazz Fest for D.C. Actually I'll have to miss the last day of the Fest since we'll be leaving at 7 in the morning. It's going to be another busy weekend.)

Back From Disney

We got back last night around nine. It was a ten hour trip. Today was a day of trying to get caught up on things, like getting food back in the house and picking up the Wonder Dog. Don't worry, I'm not going to give you a blow by blow of the trip. I'll just hit some high points and show a lot of pics. I took a lot of pics. I took a lot of pics with the characters. It became something of a mission, for us to see how many characters we could find and get our pictures with. I know, such behavior from grown men...well, I've never claimed to be too grown. So be prepared to see me with a lot of Disney characters over the next few days as I get the pictures downloaded from my camera.
