Last Night's Concert of Alejandro Escovedo

I actually tried to post this last night after I got home from the concert, but my connection with the internet was not working. (Wonderful Charater Communications.) And than today I went across the lake to see my brother. But now I'm finally ready to post about last night's concert.

In simple words: wow!

This was a great concert. It was a simple concert. Alejandro and just one other man, both playing acoustic guitar. The stage was set up with two chairs for the two men to sit and play. The area in front of the stage was set up with chairs for the auidence to sit in. This was a new one for me, normally there are no chairs. We managed to snag two seats in the front row center. Pays to get there early.

Alejandro has a wonderful, emotional, booming voice. It does not seem that voice could come from the skinny little body that it does. The music these two men created was awesome. They created a lot of noise from just two guitars. I'm sorry but I don't remember the name of the man that played with Alejandro, but he was very talented. He made that guitar do things that was simply amazing.

Between songs Alejandro told stories of his life, of his songs, of his parents. He told a long story of the life of his father that led into another song. Alejandro's song look so simple but are so complex, they tell of life and love and life and death.

I sat in rapt fascination as Alejandro sang his songs. The two hours passed by so quickly. This concert ranks up as one of my favorites.
