Zippo

Another book I picked up today, in the bargain bin, was Zippo: An American Legend. This is just what is sounds like. The history of the Zippo lighter. It's a small book filled with a lot of pictures of the Zippo lighter. Just glancing through it I found some Zippos I want. In 1996 they issues a series of lighters with pictures of the Beatles on them. I have no use for a lighter, but I want those lighters.

The Zippo was created in 1933 by George G. Blaisdell. A few minor changes in its designs, but essentially the lighter has remained the same.

I love finding these types of books and reading about something that I might not have a lot of interest in, but learning about such a topic.

Zippo makes the BEST lighters. I got Mike one a few years ago that celebrated Ford's 100th year anniversary.
