Jeff Tweedy Concert

Just got back from the concert. What can I say? I know I always go on about how great every concert is after I get back from it, but I have to say it again, this was an awesome show. Scott McCaughey from Minus Five was his opening act. He put on a good show, good enough that I went and bought a cd.

Jeff puts on a great show. He talks a lot inbetween songs. He had signs put up around the venue asking that people be quiet so the artist can be heard. But this was a New Orleans audience and it wasn't going to be too quiet. But Jeff seemed ready to accept it. He said he figured that he wasn't going to be able to keep this audience quiet so he was going with the flow. Jeff is a very funny guy. He made a lot of jokes inbetween his songs. I've been at very few shows where the auidence sings along to almost all the artists' songs. This was one of them. And not just the chorus, but the entire song.

For his final encore Jeff stepped away from the microphone and to the edge of the stage and without any amplifacation except his voice sang "Dreamer in my Dreams" and ended with "Acuff Rose" from his Uncle Tupelo days.

Heather wasn't familar with Jeff or Wilco but walked away from the concert a fan.
