The Hold Steady

I've discovered another new band that I am getting very passionate about. The Hold Steady. The Hold Steady have been called the best bar band in the country. They play good old rock and roll with a story in their songs. I could compare them to Springsteen or Mellencamp as far as their writing style goes, but I don't know if it's really good to compare, they don't sound like either but their song styles are similar in some ways.

Their songs tell stories of "Boys and Girls In America," which is the title of their newest cd. They've released two other cds that haven't gotten as much press, "Separation Sunday" and "Almost Killed Me." Their new cd has been getting a lot of good press lately, so you might have read something about them. This time belive the hype, they are that good.

The Hold Steady are: Craig Finn, Tod Kubler, Galen Polivka, Bobby Drake and Franz Nicolay.

The following post is the lyrics to their song "Stuck Between Stations" from their new cd.
