Forgotten: One of the Best CDs of 2006

When I made my list of the best cds of 2006 I forgot one cd. And when I made my list of other notable cds of 2006 I forgot it. And anyone that knows me is probably laughing their butt off right about now. Because no one would think I would forget this cd.

The Beatles' LOVE. This cd belongs in my top 13. This was one of the best cds of the year. It's kind of hard to compete against the Beatles. This was a cd created by George Martin and his son, with the Beatles songs providing the music to a Cirque du Soleil show. The Martins took the Beatles songs and mixed them up, like adding the opening notes of Blackbird to Yesterday. As George Martin says, all the music on the cd is from the Beatles songs. The only thing added that wasn't by the Beatles was a score he wrote for While My Guitar Gently Weeps. So this is the Beatles, but it's a little different version of some of the songs you know so well and love. The majority of the music is from the last half of the Beatles' life. Only one song is from the early part, I Want To Hold Your Hand. It's like the second half of Abbey Road, the side that all just goes from one song into another and than a snippet of a former song...that's kind of what this cd is like.

So put this on the list. One of the best, if not the best, cd of 2006.
