I've been reading Bill Clinton's MY LIFE for the past few weeks. It's one of those books that I pick up and read for a few days than put down and not pick it up again for another week or so. It's an interesting book. What's strange is that as I read it I hear Clinton's voice in my head saying the words. I read it in his voice.
Remember when Regan was running against Carter and he asked something along the lines of "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" meaning before Carter was president? Well, I think about that question now, am I better off with Bush than I was when Clinton was president? No, I'm not.
I'm astounded by the amount of hate that Clinton seemed to conjure up from people. Congress impeached him for having sex in the oval office (which I admit isn't the smartest thing to do) but Bush lies about why we attack Iraq, knowing they didn't have WMDs but saying they do to get us into the war and Congress doesn't blink an eye. Clinton didn't hurt anyone but himself and his family, Bush is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people but we don't think of impeaching him. I don't understand it.
