As previously noted on this blog Patty Griffin's newest cd came out today. Already the critics are piling on the praise for her new music. EW gave it an A, No Depression calls it the best album of the year.
This is her best singing she'd done yet. To me it almost has more of a jazzy feel to it than rock or folk/rock, especially the first two songs. Her voice is amazing on this album. Is it the best album of the year? That's hard to say, 2007 is still young. I'd have to guess no, I like it, but I don't think I'd rate it quite that high. Especially with Lucinda William's newest coming out next week.
