Barack Obama, the Senator from Illinois, has made it official and declared his candidacy for the President. I've liked what I've seen about him, but to be honest I don't know a whole lot yet. I'm going to have to read up some more on him. I'm glad to see some fresh new faces in the Democratic party leadership....but and I hate to say this, I really do, I'm not sure if this country would elect a black man President. I'm not saying we shouldn't. I would have no problem voting for Mr. Obama, but I'm talking about the rest of the country. The same way I'm not sure if we'd elect a woman President. Two of the front runners for the Democrat party and I think they have bigger problems than just the issues. There are a lot of people that just won't vote for certain people, not because of their issues, but because of their race or gender. I would really love to be wrong on this one.

I really like Obama...he's a captivating speaker and brings some very honest issues to the table...I think THAT is going to be his challenge...we don't like our politicians to be honest and have integrity...I think race is not going to be the largest challenge, especially when he stands against a woman...
Maybe because I am a woman...but I think our society would choose a black man over a white woman...
he also has a challenge of not having the experience that Hillary does...We'll see how things progress...I think these two will be the front runners...even though candidates are coming out of the woodwork in droves...
