It's fitting that this post is right before the one about a magazine called Geek Monthly, since this is really showing my geek side. Joss is the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly. Everyone knows how I feel about Buffy, so to me this guy can do very little wrong. He was supposed to write and direct the big screen version of Wonder Woman. For the past year rumors have flew over the internet and in comic book chat rooms about who would play Wonder Woman with Joss giving no hints. Well all over the internet in comic book sites is the news that Joss is off Wonder Woman. He says that the producers and he could not come to terms on what they wanted to see in the movie. They were not happy with where he was going, so now they have decided to go somewhere else.
I would have liked to see his version, but at the same time I had my doubts. Joss creates strong female leads, as evidenced by Buffy, and that was something sorely needed in a new version of Wonder Woman, but he also imbudes them with a certain snarky, pop referencial attitude that I don't think would work with Wonder Woman. I'm not saying he couldn't create a different type of female lead, but most of his fans were looking back at Buffy and hoping for a repeat with Wonder Woman. Buffy as Wonder Woman would not have worked.
Still a Joss Whedon Wonder Woman would have been interesting.
