Me Back Complaining (As Ususal)

I went to Target this morning to pick up a few things. In and out pretty quick. While I'm being checked out the cashier pulls her cell phone out of her pocket and starts text messaging on it. I don't know about anyone else, but I find this both rude and very unprofessional. When you're working you shouldn't even have your cell phone with you. We're raising an entire generation that can't have immediate access to their phones. Does anyone remember the days when you had to go find a phone somewhere to make a message, we didn't need to be in constant communication with everyone every minute of the day. Ok, I'll get down off my soapbox before I rant on and on.

I'm with you...that would have pissed me off and I may have called a manager. When someone is dealing with my money, I want their focus on their work.

For me, that behavior would have been grounds for immediate termination.

Where I work, in a different retail outlet, that is grounds for immediate termination. I have fired a few people for using their cell phones on the floor. To me it's just stupid, but I can't seem to get it across to some people.
