Old School Fridays: Christmas Songs

At first I was going to try and find some obscure Christmas song done by someone you wouldn't think of doing a Christmas song, but than I realized how much I love this version done by Bruce Springsteen and decided that it was the song to post. This is an early clip, I'm not sure of the year, but it's from an early Bruce. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

I haven't heard this song, but apparently I am missing out on a lot great Christmas songs. I'm so stuck on tradition that I listen to the same ole songs every year since I was 5.

I like Bruce, and this is really good. It adds something different to my playlist.

Have Fun This Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

The year was 1978 and they were performing at the Capitol Theater in New Jersey.

Only Bruce could improve on Burl Ives - though a John Lennon version might have been stupendous too!

Oh, dumb me, I said Burl Ives - I meant Fred Astaire. Jeez, I had a senior moment!

Bruce rocks, even on a holiday song.

It's that raspy delivery he has on every song. The voice is unmistakable.

Happy OSF.
