Detective John Munch

The NBC show Homicide is one of my favorite shows and I think one of the best shows television has produced. One of the characters on the show was Detective John Munch played by Richard Belzer. Even when the show was canceled it didn't mean the end for Munch. Law and Order: SVU too him in as the detective moved from Baltimore to New York City. Munch has been on just more than two shows though. The character of Detective John Munch has appeared in these shows too:

Homicide
Law and Order:SVU
The X-Files
The Beat
Law and Order: Trial by Jury
Law and Order
Arrested Development
Sesame Street

Ok, this last one he wasn't actually on the show itself, but there was a muppet in a segment called Law & Order: Special Letters Unit named Munch and voiced by Richard Belzer.

He's the only fictional character to appear in eight different series played by the same actor and on four different networks.
