Last night was a long night. I got into bed at 4:30 in the morning and had to be at work for 8:00, so I got a lot of sleep. It didn't help that daylight savings time changed last night. But it was worth it.
Will Hoge put on a great show last night. I mentioned that his last show at One-Eyed Jacks was not one of his best, he didn't seem very inspired that night. Well after coming on stage and tearing through two songs Will admited that night was not a great night for him and the band. He said that they were glad to be at the Howling Wolf after trying something new that didn't work. Not sure what all happened that threw them off their game that night, but glad it was only a one time thing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again (and probably again and again) that Will Hoge is one of the best live performers I have ever seen. And last night he proved it once more. He put on a great show, talking and joking with the auidence inbetween songs. He did a few new songs off his live album and than a new song off his forthcoming studio album. He ended the show with an acoustic version of his song "Carousel" that was awesome. Just him and his guitar and harmonica. Very very cool.
