Joss Stone early

Joss Stone's new cd is not out till this Tuesday but someone accidently put the new cds out at a store and I was able to pick it up today. The new cd is a move away from her soul roots and towards a more modern hip hop sound. It's not a move I'm especially happy about. Joss has an amazing voice and on her first two albums it was put to great use. On her newest I sometimes found her voice lost in the music. I don't mind artists stretching and trying new things (Wilco is almost a completely different band every album) but I have to admit that I don't find it working completely for her. It's not a terrible album, but it didn't hit me the same way her first two did.
