It's Not The Destination, It's The Journey

In the Beginning album coverImage via Wikipedia

I did something today that I thought I would never do. I bought a Journey album. I've never been a fan of the group. Back in their heyday I openly hated them. When friends were going to a Journey concert, I was nowhere around. I just couldn't stand their sound.

It was strange when Steve Perry released his first solo album I actually liked what I heard. I never bought the album but the songs I heard on the radio and MTV at the time I enjoyed.

So today found me buying their greatest hits. Maybe I've mellowed. I can't say I've become a big fan, but there is something about the songs. And there's something I'm writing where one of the characters is a Journey fan so I guess I can claim I bought it for research.

So now I own something I once thought I'd never own. A Journey album.

I enjoy most of Journey's work. Steve Perry's voice could wear on me a bit though.

I don't know what it was about their music, I just could never get into it. Now when Steve Perry released his solo album I thought that was pretty good.
