Attorney General Alberto Gonzales resigned on Monday, ending a controversial tenure as chief U.S. law enforcement officer that blemished the administration of President George W. Bush.
Karl Rove, President Bush's longtime political adviser, is resigning as White House deputy chief of staff effective Aug. 31, and returning to Texas, marking a turning point for the Bush presidency.
White House press secretary Tony Snow said he won't be sticking around until the end of the Bush presidency.
Karen Hughes, another trusted Texas confidante from Bush's years as governor of Texas, has since moved to a top post in the State Department and seemingly has little day-to-day influence on the White House.
Wolfowitz resigned from the World Bank, effective June 30.
J.D. Crouch, who is stepping down from his national security post at the White House.
