This group is from New Brunswick New Jersey and wears its Jersey sound proudly. The influence of Bruce Springsteen is evident from the first cords of their songs. Their sound has elements of everything from punk music to Tom Waits as well as Springsteen. This is one of those albums you might have to do some searching for. I never did find it as a brick and mortar store, I ended up getting it online as a digital download.
For those that feel like Springsteen has moved beyond his favorite subjects this band sings about hometown life, cars and girls. They bring fun to their music and deserve a lot wider recognition.

Interesting sound. A little Beaver Brown along with Bruce and Southside...ah the Joisey Sound
Also looking forward to the new U2 and funny, I featured The Staple Singers today on The Couch
I totally agree that this should be on the best of 2008 lists! It's on mine, and I just "discovered" them in November! Actually bought their album at a local Borders, if you can belief that?! I drove up to Joisey between Christmas and New Years and blasted this as soon as I hit the Garden State. Was actually in Red Bank. Gaslight's lead singer grew up down the street from where Bruce lived (lives).
Bond...wow Beaver Brown Band, I loved that group. I went to an outdoors Beach Boys concert more years ago than I want to think and they were the opening band. They were great. Southside is another great, his Better Days album is one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm heading over to see what you had on the Staple Singers :)
Aims...it hasn't been that long since I "discovered" them either. I read something and than ended up downloading it from emusic. Never could find the actual cd in the store. I'm looking for their first cd, its not on emusic but I might have to order it from amazon.
