Coming Up

June 1st is the start of Hurricane Season. Always a fun time down here in New Orleans. Let's all hope it's as slow a season as last year.

I hope the hurricane season steers clear of NOLA and surrounding regions..
La Nina is supposed to cause serious drought in the south so even though they are calling for record hurricanes, they said that early on last year too...
Regardless...I hope you and yours have contingency plans in the event of an emergency...Have all of your important documents ready to go, have cash on hand, and emergency plans for any pets...
I learned a lot when I went through 2 floods...Emergency preparedness is invaluable...

You're right. Last time with Katrina, even though I left all I took with me was some clothes and not even a lot of that. It was like all the other times we've had to leave, everyone figured we'd all be back in a couple days. Well I learned my lesson there. This time I plan on bringing some things that I don't want to lose with me, you never know what you're coming back to.
