Thirteen Thursday Number 24: Favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer Episodes

Thirteen Favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer Episodes Number #24

I know I'm late, but better late than never, right? Thursday was a rough day, so I'm just getting around to posting this today. These are 13 of some of the best episods of Buffy. They're presented in no particular order. I like Buffy so much that a week from today I might pick 13 other shows, but I think these 13 stand out as even more special than normal.

1. Prophecy Girl: The Master's plan is unfolding and as Giles finds out it involves the death of the Slayer. Buffy overhears Giles and Angel talking about the prophecy that Buffy will die when she faces the Master and freaks out. Later she realizes that it is her responsiblity to fight the Master and goes after him, thus dying in the process. Luckily Xander and Angel find her and Xander performs CPR and revivies her. She goes on to kick the Master's butt and save the day. The show and the first season end with Buffy and the gang going off to celebrate. I think this is the only season ending that didn't end in a cliff hanger and ended upbeat. This show shows how human Buffy is, realizing that she is destined to die she tells Giles that she doesn't want to die. But in the end it also shows what a hero Buffy is when she overcomes her fear and does what she must.

2. When She Was Bad: This is the opening episode of season two and continues the themes from the last episode of season one. Buffy has to face the fact that she died and came back. This episode has the vampires trying to bring the Master back and Buffy pretty much pissing off all her friends.

3. Once More With Feelings: The all musical episode of Buffy.

4 & 5: This is actually a two parter, the end of season two. In these two episodes Angel has become evil, another slayer is around and the gang have to stop the destruction of the world again. In the end Buffy does so, by killing Angel and sending him into a demon hell. At the end she leaves town without saying a word to anyone.

6: The Body: Buffy's Mom dies by natural causes. This episode deals with Buffy's reactions to her death as a normal part of life and no one to fight or avenge.

7. Hush: A group of seven demons invade Sunnydale and rob the inhabitants of their power of speech. Most of the entire show is done with no speaking.

8. The Prom: Just what it sounds like. This is the Prom for the final season of Buffy's high school years. This has one of the most touching scenes in the show as the students of the school finally acknowledge how important Buffy has been to them for the last four years.

9. The Gift: To save her sister Dawn Buffy scarfices her own life. In this episode Buffy dies, but of course doesn come back in the next season. This was the season finale to seacon five.

10. Passion: From season two Angel has turned evil and kills one of the gang, Gile's girlfriend.

11. Innocence: Another from season two, when Buffy and Angel finally take the plunge and Angel turns evil by the act.

12. Chosen: The end of the series and a new chapter for Buffy opens.

13. Doppelgangland: Willow as a evil vampire.

This is just 13, there are a lot more. I didn't even mention any about Spike or...you see my problem, I could talk about Buffy all day. I've just started watching the entire series over again and am now into the second series.

I have so many favorite episodes, and like you it would probably be a different 13 every time I thought about it.

But I think my favorite of all time is Hush.

fHush is a great episode. Like you said, it's so hard to chose 13 much less one. I guess that's a true test of its quality.
