But we still need to protect the laws of those who want to own assault rifles and hand guns and automatic weapons????

There is no reason why anyone outside the military or law enforcement who should be able to own assault rifles, automatic weapons and YES, even hand guns.

You can hunt with shotguns and that should be enough

I agree. I have nothing against people using guns to hunt, but you don't hunt with assault rifles. It's crazy, but I think it's so far gone now we can never get good gun laws, there are too many guns out there with too many people.

I own a hand gun. Target shooting is fun as hell. But I would have absolutely no problem, having a month long wait time during which a deep background check was run and I would have no problem at all being fingerprinted.

Heck I would be fine with have a psyche eval. Cause a responsible person ain't gonna have anything to hide and should not be in any great rush for one.

In fact I would prefer to have to submit to all of those.

I agree Starr. People think because someone is for gun control that means they are against guns completely. I don't like guns, but that doesn't mean I think no one should own them. I just think we need better control of them and like you said, more checks when you buy a gun.
