Breaking Dawn

The new book sensation is "Breaking Dawn" by Stephenie Meyers. It's about a teenage girl in love with a vampire and a werewolf. I honestly only learned of this series in the last few months. This is the fourth and final volume of the series. The book went on sale at midnight last Saturday and sold over 1 million copies. I really know just about nothing about this series, but am interested in all the excitement over the book. I'm glad to see kids continue to want to read so much after the Harry Potter excitement. Anyone out there read any of these books and can tell me how they are?

ummm... it's not just for kids, k? {blushes} Yes, I've read them all (in the last two weeks!!), and am a third of the way through Breaking Dawn. My friend and I are addicted and are looking into checking ourselves into Promises (but I think I'd rather go to Crossroads)! Never heard of the series until I got the Entertainment Weekly that had it on the cover (maybe four weeks ago).

I never got into Harry Potter and thought my thirtysomething year old friends were weird for reading kid's books, now i'm totally borrowing their HP books when I'm done with this one. HA!

I heard that this is supposed to be a series that teenage girls are sharing with their moms. It's supposed to address a lot of themes that teenage girls face, including peer pressure surrounding sex and alcohol.

But it's also supposed to be a rocking good story.

I may have to give this series a try. And Amy you have to read Harry Potter, it is a great story.
