Thursday Thirteen: 13 Beatles Songs In Cartoon

I'm a long time Beatles fan so I thought I'd post 13 Beatles songs from the old cartoon. Does anyone know if they're issued the cartoons on DVD?

1) Eight Days A Week: this was the first single I ever bought back when I was a kid.

2) Can't Buy Me Love

3) Twist and Shout

4) I Saw Her Standing There

5) I Should Have Known Better

6) I Feel Fine

7) Drive My Car

8) Got To Get You Into My Life

9) Boys

10) Mr. Moonlight

11) Thank You Girl

12) Penny Lane

13) A Hard Day's Night

I have never seen the cartoon but I love every one of those songs. There never was a Beatles song that I didn't like.

I haven't seen the video but I heard the same thing. They said he was kind of mean on the video telling his fans not to send him any more letters. Not a nice thing to do.

I used to watch The Beatles cartoon all the time in reruns in the late 70s. When I first sat down to watch their cartoon movie "Yellow Submarine", I was expecting it to be just like their 30 minute cartoon with them in their matching blue suits and all that. I was in for quite a surprise. :-)

Although The Beatles cartoon hasn't been officially released on DVD, there are bootlegs available. Since I haven't purchased any of them, all I can say is buyer beware. Also, there is a book that came out in 1999 about the making of their cartoon series called "Beatletoons".

In case you haven't seen the Ringo video of him telling people not send him fanmail after Oct. 20, you can watch it here:

Oh I miss those cartoons. I loved them. And the movies. Ringo and his ring in help. And Paul's grand-dad!
