Vote For Who Again?!?

At lunch today when mention came up about my trip to Washington D.C. next week it of course started some talk about politics. I found out quickly I was the only person at the table that would vote for Hillary. Also the others admitted to voting for W but all weasled out of it by saying he's done a lot of good things (name one!), that's he's not the same as he once was. But only one guy at the table said he'd still vote for W now. If I could make an astonished face on here that's what you would be seeing now, to reflect my face than.

Alright, as I take a deep breathe, would you be so kind as to state clearly why you support Hillary Clinton. I really am interested to know, I don't like her but my reasons are more emotional, gut feeling oriented and I would like to hear from a bloggy friend her positive points.

As for W. well I did vote for him in 2000 against my now hero Al Gore. I should be flogged repeatedly, and I succumb to my punishment.

Hope you have a great weekend.

John, I love your blog. The rock 'n roll and book questions, your photographs, the music. I visit often but don't comment much because, well, I'm chicken.

I'm conservative, voted for Bush twice, and am looking for a decent conservative to vote for next time. I know that goes against your leanings, but hey, I figure that's what America is about, make your choice and vote.

I certainly respect your choices and your voice you put on here so eloquently, though I disagree on most political points you make. Don't be surprised that there are still people out here who support Bush, despite the constant attacks in the media, there's a bunch of us.

I'm informed, try to stay informed from various sources, and make my choices. Doesn't mean folks have to be at each other's throats.

I love your posts about the goings-on in Louisiana, I was born and raised in north Louisiana, Monroe, which I know is a different world culturally from where you are, but still, it's great reading, and I love the photographs.

Keep up the great work. I'll de-lurk and comment from time to time.

JAM, please feel free to comment on here all you want. Even though I am not a conservative I would never think you don't have to right to vote or think any way you want to. That's what makes this country so great, the ability for us to disagree. I know I can get a little zealous sometimes when it comes to politics, but that's just me. I wouldn't want you to think that I don't value your thoughts on any subject and while we may disagree on some subjects that is cool. Feel free to tell me that you don't think I know what I'm talking about, lots of people tell me so every day. :)

Ok, as far as my voting for Hillary, I should have made something clear. She's not my first choice, I was saying I would vote for her, especially against someone like W. She has had some good ideas, mainly health care, but like so many other politicians when she runs she thinks what is best to win and not really what is best for the country. Who I really would like to see run is Al Gore.
