What's Going on with American Idol?

First I'll admit that I haven't been able to watch much of it this year. Last year I caught every show and was pulling for Taylor from the first. But what I've seen of this year's show is not very encouraging. Except for Lakisha and Melinda there are no stand outs. In fact I think there are some pretty bad singers that got this far. Tonight I just saw that they sent Gina home. She was my favorite of all the singers. I don't think she was the best, Melinda has that locked up. But I think she sang with the most emotion, she was the most fun one of the bunch. I'll take emotion over perfection any day. And for some of the others that have made it so far, I'll refrain from any nasty comments. But I really think this show is becoming more of a joke....
