Susan Cowsill:
Just Believe It
She didn't record her solo album into she was in her 40s. But she's been around for over thirty years. She started out at the age of seven, singing with her brothers in the family band The Cowsills. The Cowsills were the real life band that television used as a basis for the show The Partridge Family.
After leaving the family group Susan sang with Vicky Peterson, lately of the Bangles, as The Pyscho Sisters. From there the two moved to New Orleans and became part of the group Continental Drifters. During the ninties this group lived and recorded in New Orleans and produced three albums of great material.
After leaving the Drifters with her husband, former drummer and member of the Drifters also, she recorded her first solo album. Susan's album is a wonderful mixture of pop and roots music. She is a gifted songwriter with amazing songs to her credit.
Susan still calls New Orleans home and can be found at the local club Carrolton Station doing the Covered in Vinyl show where she sings a famous album from someone else. Her appearances at JazzFest have been great shows.

I used to love the Cowsills. I'll have to check out Susan's.
Susan is awesome as a solo artist. I think you'll really like her.
