I've been writing so much about the upcoming JazzFest that I've forgotten another great musical festival coming. It's the French Quarter Fest that takes places April 13, 14 and 15. This is an all free festival and the performers are all from the area. Stages are set up in the Quarter and vendors with food and other cool things are scattered about the streets. It started off as a small festival to get locals into the quarter before JazzFest and has grown into a pretty big fest now. It's not going to rival JazzFest but that's not the point.
The problem though is that I'm getting off two three day weekends at the end of April and start of May, so there is no way I'm going to be able to get this weekend off too. But the good news is that I'm scheduled off Friday, so I'll be able to make at least one day. Theresa Anderson is performing that day so that'll be cool.
